Pfeifennebel: Sehr großer Dunkelnebel, im 7x50 Fernglas am schönsten, aber auch mit dem bloßen Auge zu erkennen. Der Pfeifenhals ist am deutlichsten zu erkennen, vor allem am Ende, südlich von 36 Oph. Die Beule nach Norden ist sehr schwierig.
Pipe Nebula: Very large dark nebula. Best seen in the 7x50 binoculars but still good with unaided eye. The neck of the pipe is the most prominent part, particularly the end south of 36 Oph. The bump to the north is very difficult.
